WEAVING CLASS ON TRADITIONAL TEXTILES
Interested in weaving or textiles? Bhutanese textiles are recognized for their abundance of color, sophistication and variation of patterns, and the intricate dyeing and weaving techniques. We can arrange a weaving class for you or if you are interested in visiting the village(s) where the textiles originate, that can also be arranged. All sales of local textiles, directly benefit the local communities and the families of the weavers.

HOT ROASTED STONE BATH
You cannot visit Bhutan without experiencing a Hot Stone Bath. Bhutanese hot stone baths are a traditional bath where water is heated by depositing fire-roasted river stones into a chamber of a large wooden tub. The bath is normally sprinkled with pink Himalayan salt flakes and a variety of colorful wildflowers along with herby green Artemisia leaves. The tub itself is commonly made of oak as it is said to hold the water’s heat better than most other commonly found wood like pine. Perfect for after a long day of hiking or trekking. Versions of these baths exist all over Bhutan, from luxurious five-star resorts to charming rustic farmhouses.

You enjoy shopping a local markets? We know all the best places, with the best prices. Shopping for local items are prevalent in Thimpu and Paro but can be found in other towns.
POTTERY MAKING
There are only a handful of women that still know the art of pottery making in Bhutan. It is a bit of an adventure to get to Lhuentse to the village where the pottery is made. But it is fascinating, and the pottery is amazing.
